While I am currently failing with writing up my list posts, I feel that I am obliged to offer you another morsel to feast your eyes on, and therefore, I present to you another Snood's World Sunday!
Todays post, if you haven't already guessed, involves a large part of my
Now, as many of you have probably guessed, I was a weird child ( and by weird, I mean I was creepy as ship...this is a family blog, no bad language). The other kids and I didn't have much in common, me reading books such as Harry Potter and The Chamber Of Secrets, they reading Moo Cow Goes To Market, and other analogies that subtely show me to be clever... well I was then, unfortunately everyone seems to have caught up with me now...
Anyways, one of the few things that I did share in common with the other kids is the fascination with pokemon. At first, the inteerst was purely in the pokemon cartoons/anime that was on in the afternoon, where I would watch Ash Ketchum battle with Gary Oak ( that smug bast-...er-ing dish. Family Blog) and I would talk with the other kids about what Ash was doing, what pokemon we liked, etc. In a nonchalant , "the shows ok" kind of way.
And then, intrepid readers, the following game appeared on the shelf in the U.K. :
That's right, intrepid reader, Pokemon Yellow.
The holy grail for a 5/6 year old.
I. Was. Hooked.
The gamewas so simple, yet so complex, and while most kids were screaming at their gameboys at why they should be catching a Pidgey, I was drawing up battle plans and team combinations. Like I said, I was an odd kid.
But in all honesty, playing this game is one of the more fonder memories from my childhood. While that may sound sad, i would say the opposite. It allowed me to immerse myself in a new world, one where everything was different, from shopping in Celadon city for evolution stones, to trawling Mt. Moon for a paras ( i could never seem to catch one...) . Yes the graphics weren't brilliant, and the game would bug out every now and then, but that didn't matter to me. Still doesn't.
you see, yesterday morning i happened to come across my old game boy, and my old copy of Pokemon yellow, and I've barely put it down since. I've just hit vermillion city, and I am aiming to catch all 151 Pokemon ( THE ORIGINALS ARE THE BEST!)
however, I would say that I wouldn't mind playing the newer pokemon as well, to see what today's newcomers to the pokemon games are experiencing, and so that I can fall in love with a whole new load of pokemon.
Any ways, that concludes today's: Snood World Sunday!
while shorter than some of my other posts, I hope that you liked it, and if not, feel free to leave a comment on what I should change! ( the hunt for the elusive comment continues...)
In other news, I am planning to release posts and the Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday of next week, So keep your eyes peeled!
That's All Folks!
