Hello once again avid readers!
yesterday, i completed yet another list item! (flying through them aren't i?) I've completed:
21)Paint a Painting
now most normal people would assume that this is an easy feat, and doesn't really belong on my list. Well, let me tell you something! (you may need to sit down, or stand up, basically the opposite of the current you....)
i mean, i really suck at anything arty. most of my so called ' Artistic Pieces ' should probably be outlawed by the Geneva Convention! ( Look it up kids! i had to... ) but, i bit the bullet, and after a light spot of revision with my editor, i decided to give it a go. ( And by decided, i mean i was told that i was going to be completing something off of my blog or i was going to be hurt)
we started by picking an image to draw out, then paint, and we went for this sloth. Why a sloth? i asked myself that question a lot while painting...
after finishing the drawing, which in itself was hard for me, we started painting. By now, i had already been thrice insulting and laughed at by my editor, whose artistic ability is incredible to say the least. i tried mixing a light brown, with just the right hue to match the main fur colour of the sloth. what i got was a disgusting brown splodgy colour, that took up most of the space of my pallet ( which was a small plate that had appeared... I'm thinking multi-dimensional plate...) i tried to rectify my mistake by shiftng the colour to a darker brown... this made it worse...
then came he actual painting... have you ever had a life threatening situation? where the stress causes adrenaline to pump through you body, and make your heart feel like its going to explode out of your chest?... that's what painting is like for me. it's always a horrible experience, that seems to end with me having paint on my fingers, with dirty looking water in bowls holding my sad lonely, dejected looking paint brushes, with this time being no-exception. The finished product did not look good, which i will now showcase below.
she's a looker ain't she?i should probably show my editor lovely piece as well (*Cough*nofairwishicouldpaintlikeher*Cough*)
and with that i think I'll bring this post to a close, with some important words from Snow Patrol. It's a mess, It's a start, It's a flawed work of art.that's all folks!
you did well lucy to have the skill to teach ben to paint
